Barmouth Bridge
Barmouth is walking distance from Fairbourne beach, there is a regular boat trip which also covers that journey or walk across Barmouth bridge. You can walk from Fairbourne or park at Morfa Mawddach train station. By car it will take you 40 mins to drive around the Estuary or you can take the Penmaenpool toll bridge to shorten the journey. It is a larger seaside town with amusement arcades, restaurants and shops. We recommend the cafe Goodies for coffee and cake and Isis Pizzeria for pizza’s by the harbour front.
About Barmouth
Nestled on Cardigan Bay and framed by southern Snowdonia’s peaks, Barmouth (Welsh: Abermaw) combines a bustling seaside town with gateway access to the wildest parts of Eryri National Park.
Barmouth’s Blue Flag beach is wide, sandy, and family-friendly, perfect for swimming, sandcastle building, and long walks at sunset. The beach promenade is lined with cafés, fish & chip shops, and amusements, making it ideal for traditional British seaside fun.
Barmouth is a great base for exploring Snowdonia’s southern mountains, with trails offering everything from gentle hillside walks to more demanding hikes. Panorama Walk and Dinas Oleu (the first National Trust donation) offer sweeping views of the sea and hills.
